God's Magnificence... Revealed!

Wednesday, July 26, 2006

Dearest Magnificents,

Praise God, its so amazing when you place God as the first priority in your life ! Indeed I'm amazed by the LOVE of God thru Christ Jesus. I've been blessed in many ways, even thru the though times.

Juz last night I went to this interdenominational group called "tuesday group", its amazing, I'm addicted to it man ! The preaching was so simple but yet so anointed and powerful ! I was juz like blown away. I invited many random friends i felt God prompting me, of which many were away from the church for a long time. Praise God most went and a mighty anointing of the Holy Spirit juz hit everyone in the room. I juz stood amazed like a little child! Speechless in the arms of the blessed Saviour! The richness of God through Christ Jesus, manifested to us the maximum and abundant love of the Saviour through His death of His son, Jesus on the cross. But the death brought us life, life in abundance ! Victory ! The cross of sin and death became the cross of glory and victory !

How far are we willing to run for Christ ? How deep is our love for Him? When i see the cross of pain Jesus went through i stand dumbfounded, no words can contain my love for Him, no words can contain my sorries for all the wrongs i've done. The past , present and future sins, He paid for us all in BLOOD ! To Him it is worth it, to us , what would our response be each day ? Yes Lord, I love you and my heart will follow solely after you? Amen to that !

I sense that a few of us in the group are facing issues which brings us to a standstill in our relationship with God. I urge you , take heart my friend! God doesn't judge you on how many times you fall, but on how many times you pick yourself up. Sometimes its hard to get up, Jesus faced that too, He fell three times as He was walking up the the hill of skulls, on the third time could He get up by himself? No , He couldn't ! It was Simon of Cyrene who helped Him up and encouraged Him, lead Him by the hand and loved Him at the lowest point of His life. Community ! Our Lady's love for Him brought Him great comfort and determination to the divine call. Mother Mary is the biggest signboard to Jesus, do not neglect her in your daily walk with Christ. Her YES made a huge "Tsunami" in the heavenlies, flooded hell with heavenly music, changed the world! Your YES to God can make a huge impact in the heavenlies and place hell out of business !

I hope we continue to meet up regularly to grow from strength to strength, from glory to glory ! One Way Jesus !

Agape,

Paul

Hello all,

Whoa. What beautifully heart-warming posts. *blown away!*

To Paul: Thanks for showing us the 'beauty' in each of us... As a group, I guess we could never have grown so close to God and to each other, if not for such wonderful and committed leaders like you. Hey, seriously, you've taught me SO MUCH so far, it's crazy (in a good way of course!)~ And it's been only about 2 months since I've really gotten to know you... yet you've already made such a huge impact in my life... :) Thank You! Your passion to serve God and His people is truly inspiring and exemplary...With all that said, I believe that I not only speak for myself, but on behalf of the rest of Magnificent as well. I really thank God for sending you into our lives!

I dunno if it's me or maybe just the training towards being a future psychologist/sociologist... I can't help but always observe people, especially the dynamics that happen between people in social settings and all. And so far, when I look at the dynamics of this group, I am always amazed at how amazing our God is! We have so many different 'characters' in this group, each with our own eccentricities and idiosyncrasies, yet we still manage to bond so well as a group... and that took like how long? less than 4 days man! And the best part is, our uniqueness-es don't overshadow each other; instead, they become more pronounced so much so that each of us can just be ourselves whilst in each other's midst. And you know, sometimes it is rare to find a group of people with whom you can just be yourself with (at least that's what I personally feel)... and yet we have been so fortunate to have been put into such a group this last camp. I can't imagine what it would have been like if I had gone with my feelings, and had not become a faci in YISS '06. Gee... life wouldn't be as good man.

We've got cool stuff going here man... definitely couldn't have been possible without a cool God.

Lotsa love, Van
HI everyone!!!! ITS THE MAGNIFICIENT'S WHITE NINJA HAHAHAHAHAH (got to ask paul why white.....)

I am finally going to post something =p when i read what pris said about how important the group was to her i told her that i felt the same. so now im telling all of you guys =))

As you all know after my sharing at the camp, i never really belonged anywhere and even when i was among friends it felt empty and alone. After i found God and accepted him, things got better but things still went abit wrong at times and i found myself at square one. There came a time when i thought "accept your fate lah you... like this very bad meh? so long already like tt... jus stay tt way till you die loh...."

That was kinda why i wasnt so into going for YISS, but im glad i did. There i found myself being renewed in the spirit and though it might sound like blasphemy... haha i think more importantly i found you guys.

Each and everyone of you means so much to me. I hoped and prayed that our group would last after the camp and by god's grace we did... and i pray that we will always last.. til the day we all become old and so "unglam"... haha and we sit at a kopitiam as a bunch of toothless old foogies sucking on teh and kopi..until then.. lets rock, Praise God and CLUB!!!!! HAHA

Now i know that i do not walk alone... at the camp i realised i was with jesus, but now i realise that he isnt the only one thats walking with me ;). I dont feel so alone anymore guys and i wanna thank each and everyone of you. =))

So thank you Paul, Vanessa,Rebecca,Russell,Priscilla, Lynette, Angele, Nicholas and Jeremy =))

haha this posting abit the weird lah and nothing to do with god or spiritual growth.. but its how i feel and i wanna let all you guys know so yea...

Love and lotsa Hugs!!!
Jason

Hey Magnificents,

Praise God indeed ! You know how fortunate we are to be able to have such a beautiful group of people in you ! Many groups have prematuredly disbanded and are in kinda a limbo stage. I hope we would never become like that. That is precisely the reason why i pushed and initiated this cell group despite having some difficulties the team of these few facilitators fought for such a cause to unite and bind their group through personal follow-up and followship through Christ !

I've very touched by each any everyone of you all.

Vanessa, for being such a great co-fac and more then that a good friend/ buddy! Thanks for all the lessons, badminton posing stuns to pose with style though i may have missed the shot. And also for being so open and trachable.

Rebecca, for being such a lovely friend who is ever so ready to say "lets go". so hyped up, indeed a born "mambo queen". For being so hungry and thirsty for God, your love for all of us is amazing, your love for God is magnificent ! I see a "life in Christ " slowly unfolding in front of ya. You'll be at the best from from now on, "the head and not the tail".

Angele, for being so fun-loving and funny. Its amazing how you are so level headed. Your strong desire to serve God is something i can see and thank god for the leader in you !

Priscilla, you're more than a friend, a sister in christ ! I've known you for ages man. I just got to know you when i first started charismatic ministry, moreover it was my first time facilitating in yr year. I've changed from "Cool ah beng" to "OP uncle"haha. Well, i really thank God for you being in our group, for the laughs and moves and faces haha. your desire to love and serve God is so so amazing ! Do not be afraid God is with you, we are here for you. U'll never have to walk alone (pls i'm no liverpool fan) haha ! I speak a multitude of people for you to harvest in Jesus name!

Lynette, indeed God spoke to the dry bones and it took flesh ! We could see this miracle taking place at the prayer rally! Indeed you have what it takes gal, you go gal ! I see you have a pastor's heart, a heart for God's people! I want to say that you're blessed to be a blessing to all of us!

Russell, when i first saw you i was excited to see what God's gonna do to you thru the four days ! you carry a strong anointing around you. As i type this, i can feel the warmth of the Holy Spirit moving through me. I know that you're gonna be a DYNAMITE for Christ ! You're gonna explode the church of singapore with the fire of the Holy Spirit !

Jeremy, we met at connector's "road march" 2 yrs back. Great to know you were from ACS and are intending to to to Bandoora RMIT to do engineering ! How anointed and blessed are we to have met each other. I know you'll be a great leader and remember this, where you go, people would remember you as a person after God's own heart. You'll leave a covenental trail for God's people to follow! Lead by example!

Nicholas, thanks for being you! You're always so on the ball! Thats so great to know how you're driven by your passion! I thank god for giving you this renewed passion to re-discover HIM once again! Magnificent is magnificent because of you. How one candle, no matter how small it may seem can brighten up a dark room!

Jason, magnificent's very own white ninja ! Indeed you've been a great friend. God's love surrounds you and you want to spread this love to all men, great work ! Do not allow satan to steal this love, and don't allow him to trick u into beliving that you're a nobody ! You're more than a somebody in Christ ! The craftiness of the devil steals your happiness and joy , i speak change in Jesus name ! I want to tell ya that God wants to stretch you to the fullness of His glory ! Exciting times brother!

Thanks for reading till here, i juz felt that i had to do this. Each of you are very important to the community, like how a little finger or toe is so important to the integral body, if missing , the whole body feels disabled/crippled. And so i want to tell you that we've got so so much potential and fire. What do we do with this ? That determines how we move on into the future. Freddy would speak of a covental bond this friday. Pls attend caz u'll see God's doing a covental bond in Magnificent and the Cell Support Ministry. We're all God's dream team! Do we want to play the match well or are we gonna allow our personal agendas and feelings get in the way of our response to God ?

Today in the Cell Support Ministry, we have a few people not within our group, but are hungry and as well as lost ? Let's invite them and accept them wholeheartedly in this ministry to grow and journey with each other ! God's dream team would be a success only if we work as a team ! I pray that this heartfelt message would reach to the depts of your hearts and may Go meet you there.

Thanks all of you for making me all God wants me to be !

Hugs,
Agape,

Paul
Hello people!

Pray everyone's doing great and that the Spirit's still burning earnestly in your hearts!! Just wanted to say a very special THANK YOU to Pris, Rebecca and Paul for taking time off on saturday night to come and attend my youth group's 2nd yr anniversary. You have no idea how much it meant to me to see you guys there. :) You all looked real funny and cool in ur costumes too btw! haha..

Was just reading through Russ and Pris' sharings and i suddenly realised that they both had one common point and that was about how much our group meant to each of them. Sometimes we don't realise it, but we tend to take thing for granted at times and i just wanted to say how important it is that we continue to keep this group fellowship of ours and allow it to grow k because we have no idea how much it could mean to each of us individually. The support and encouragement the group brings is so amazing and I really pray it will continue to last on for many years to come.

So yea, just wanted to say how much i love all ya guys and am really looking forward to seeing all of u soon! (perhaps this fri at amplify? or on sat at the cell group k?)

Take care ppl and God bless! Hv a great and amazing week ahead!

Jem

Hi Guys! Hmmm I was reading Pris' entry and something just triggered inside of me to share this with you guys. I was thinking back of the past month, of how things have been after YI, and it struck me how many opportunities we have had to meet up. From the prayer rallies, to the parties; from the makan/supper sessions, to cell group on Saturdays - it shows the effort that each of us put into planning an occasion where we can all gather together, whether to develop this beautiful friendship we have with one another or to help each other grow spiritually together. The image of a ladder comes to mind, as i feel that we're all different steps on that same ladder, easing each others' burden somewhat and supporting each other along the way; to one common goal.

Oh yes, one more thing. My parish is celebrating family awareness month this July and we pray this Prayer for the Family every Sunday, thought I'd include the prayer here to share with you guys.

God, our loving Father, bless our families with a sense of responsibility that each of us may do our part in making our family united, like the Holy Family of Nazareth.
Lord, grant us peace, love and mutual co-operation in our daily life.
Lord, we thank you for the gift of family life. Make our families holy as your family was holy.
Lord, we earnestly entrust all the trials, afflictions, joys and events of our family life to you.
Lord, teach us to praise rather than criticise, to sympathise rather than condemn; to give rather than receive, so that our homes may become places where love and peace reign.
We make this prayer through Christ our Lord, Amen.

God Bless,
Russell :)
Hiee everyone!!

eeee-hah!Can tell im in high spirits ya? I just attended a smashing costume party organised by Jem n his team!!And i was really glad becks, paul came as well! And somehow they encouraged me to pen down my thoughts in da blog n share it wif all of uuuu..

Its been almost a mth since our yi experience..and surprisingly I am still so excited to learn more abt GOD!Everyday, I sing, dance, smile, pray and give thanks to HIM becuz he makes me whole!Spiritual life is indeed quite a journey...there r times I feel so gd but yet sometimes i sulk n wonder y.

But everytime i start thinking negative or feeling low, I think about all of u.

I am serious, the group sharings and brother/sisterhoods you guys shower me reminds me of how great GOD's love is for me. O yes, I just went through my rite of acceptance and got my bible for the first time!!How exciting can it be!I'll most likely bury myself in the bible n skip the library for romance novels..ha..

Actually from the camp up till today, I have experienced GOD in so many wonderful ways.

I will share the most recent one..A couple of days ago, I had a dream.
In the dream, i spoke in tongues! And to make things even more magical, i woke up n continued speaking in tongues and fell asleep with it. The next day, I woke up but forgot all abt the dream. Only when i chatted wif a fren on the phone n was sharing my yi experience with her, then i remembered abt my dream.

I shared this dream with my parish father. He said, "GOD has given u a present and he will never take it back or punished u if u dun use it." And his parting words to me was," DO NOT FEAR"!wow, i was realli blown away by it becuz i was indeed feeling fearful of this n that..and now, I hope all of u can help me pray that I continue to seek and hopefully be able to speak in tongues when im nt sleeping but praying..thanks!

O yesh, my parish father always stresses on this: To keep your faith alive, you must find your faith in Christ challenging! For me, I believe the first step is to b in a community, together we can grow, share and help one another learn and receive more n more things GOD wants to give us.

Special thanks to Paul for setting up the cell group! At the recent cell group, although there were a couple of new faces and things were a lil awkard but the sharing was a blast! I was very touched to hear beck's fren(a very shy ger) say that the sharing together wif me, ant and 2 other gers helped open her mind! See, GOD is within us!wow..

And talking about that, I wana share something quite silly.

Once i was eating dinner wif a fren and as usual i eat quite fast rite? So i look at the windows and smile. My fren who was cheewing her food away shrieked!"pris, r u mad?y r u smiling to the window when it is pitch dark outside!" Guess wats my reply?

I smiled n giggled," GOD LOVES ME AND I LOVE HIM!"

She stopped eating n laughed till her stomach crack.

But to me..i was feeling extremely peaceful n veri blessed to know GOD.

ok tts quite a sharing ya!let me gallop outta of here but i will be back!!!
LOVE,PEACE N JOY be with all of u!

huggies,
Priscy

SATAN'S MEETING: (Read even if you're busy)

Satan called a worldwide convention of demons. In his opening address he said, "We can't keep Christians from going to church." "We can't keep them from reading their Bibles and knowing the truth." "We can't even keep them from forming an intimate relationship with their saviour." "Once they gain that connection with Jesus, our power over them is broken."

"So let them go to their churches; let them have their covered dishdinners, BUT steal their time, so they don't have time to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ.." "This is what I want you to do," said the devil:"Distract them from gaining hold of their Saviour and maintaining that vital connection throughout their day!" "How shall we do this?" his demons shouted."Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life and invent innumerableschemes to occupy their minds," he answered."Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow." "Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and the husbands to work6-7 days each week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can afford their emptylifestyles.""Keep them from spending time with their children." "As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape fromthe pressures of work!""Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still, smallvoice.""Entice them to play the radio or cassette player whenever they drive."To keep the TV, VCR, CDs and their PCs going constantly in their home andsee to it that every store and restaurant in the world plays non-biblicalmusic constantly."

"This will jam their minds and break that union with Christ." "Fill the coffee tables with magazines and newspapers.""Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day.""Invade their driving moments with billboards.""Flood their mailboxes with junk mail, mail order catalogs, sweepstakes, and every kind of newsletter and promotional offering free products, services and false hopes..""Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines and TV so their husbandswill believe that outward beauty is what's important, and they'll become dissatisfied with their wives. ""Keep the wives too tired to love their husbands at night.""Give them headaches too! ""If they don't give their husbands the love they need, they will begin to look elsewhere.""That will fragment their families quickly!""Give them Santa Claus to distract them from teaching their children thereal meaning of Christmas.""Give them an Easter bunny so they won't talk about his resurrection and power over sin and death.""Even in their recreation, let them be excessive.""Have them return from their recreation exhausted.""Keep them too busy to go out in nature and reflect on God's creation. Send them to amusement parks, sporting events, plays, concerts, and moviesinstead.""Keep them busy, busy, busy!""And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them in gossip and small talk so that they leave with troubled consciences."

"Crowd their lives with so many good causes they have no time to seek powerfrom Jesus.""Soon they will be working in their own strength, sacrificing their health and family for the good of the cause.""It will work!""It will work!"It was quite a plan! The demons went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians everywhere to get busier and more rushed, going here and there. Having little time fortheir God or their families.Having no time to tell others about the power of Jesus to change lives.

I guess the question is, has the devil been successful in his schemes?
You be the judge!!!!!
Does "BUSY" mean:

B-eing U-nder S-atan's Y-oke?

Please pass this on, if you aren't too BUSY!

Hello all!

Thanks Russell and the rest of you all for that interestingly-wild party at Russell's place!
With all the music that was blasting, our shouting, laughing & screaming, it's a surprise the neighbours din call the police down. Thank God haha.
Hey birthday boy! hope you had a ball of a time & a heaven-lot of fun! ;)

That day I was damn tired & dazed cos I had just finished a camp... But just as you guys never ever fail to brighten up my day, you all managed to make me feel more awake & less tired. Thanks! Haha.

Heard Sat's cell got kicked off to a good start! Yup, I totally agree with Rebecca about how we should view our cell.
I pray that as each day passes, we'll continue to grow more and more in God's love together, and I hope we'll also continue to support and encourage one another as we seek and serve our beautiful God!

Love you guys,
Van :)

Sunday, July 09, 2006

hello magnificents,

so friday was a blast. i'm sure everyone enjoyed themselves. i did for sure, from the shopping to the eating to what not. Russell, may you have a God-filled year ahead!! =)

and saturday, cell group-day. Hah, the ice-breakers were pretty impromtu, but we had fun. saw a number of new faces so there was a bit of getting used to the new ones there. Then, p&w, then Paul's session on the 'Word of God', lasty, the sharing. As Chelsea put it to me ( Chelsea's my friend, the not-cool-fringe-girl one, hah), "its like a mini yi". How true.

so i'd like to urge all of you, my magnificents, to take cell group in all excitement and seriousness. As we enthusiastically plan our various meet-ups of eating/drinking(must!), clubbing(woo!), badminton(please? i like), lets see cell group as all of us journeying together with God with each other. The outing with God la, so to speak. Lets not put it in the same categary of tuition/work/school/errands, you know, things we have to go through. And its not going to be easy all the time, i mean i'd admit i was physically drowsy when Paul was talking (effects from the previous day). We try la, ok?

love ya,
Becky.

Hey Hey Hey!

Lynette Marie Chen Suxin Bones
This group is amazingly happening. Gosh, this post is belated... but I've been so busy hanging out with you guys that I haven't had the time to write this post earlier.. (heheh)

1 week. 3 outings!

Tuesday's badminton was rly fun... I couldn't help contorting. It was good exercise that neutralised the calorie-adding effects of the prata and yummy 'thomson longhouse' food we had. If not, we probably wouldn't be able to have all squeezed into Jason's car... not bad Becky, Angele, Russell & me, still thin enough.. har. And I think you guys were super cute to have come down to SMU to look for me... I was so near yet so far huh ;)

On Wednesday night, the plan was to go somewhere to sit & chill...Well, we ended up walking up & down along the river looking for a place to chill... but that itself was great fun!! I remember lotsa walking, talking, laughing, singing... goodness knows how the fruit juice made us so high.
Anyway, there's a moral to the story: The activities you do don't matter, all you need is fantastic company! SO, thank you Paul, Becky & Nic for being that fantastic company that night!!!

Saturday's Youth Prayer Rally was awesome too. I really thank God for this reminder to pray unceasingly. Lynette, thanks for all the effort you put into organisin this event... Wonderful job gurl!! :) Hope you're freer now to join us for future outings!

Next stop: Russell's party!!! :D

Love, Van

Dear Friends,

Cheerios for Lynette and the Maranatha Prayer Ministry from Christ the King, indeed it was a very well co-ordinated and anointed effort. I am really amazed Lynette for being so enthusiastic in serving HIM and making such an impact in you parish, you remind me of myself when i was younger. Well, praise the Lord really !

Freddy's message on renewal of the mind was one which shook many of us to the realisation of seeing the need to do something concrete with our faith and not juz sit around and thinking , "its in God's hands" . Instead cease the opportunity to start praying and speaking to God like a friend. How sometimes when we're so anxious about stuff , we go on and on chatting with our friends for hours and not get tired, we too must also adopt this attitude with God. Prayer is a dialogue!

Well Lyn, hope you're well rested recovered. You looked so tired haha, worry for your health man. Well, no worries, our God is far bigger and greater than all the world's worries combined together. And there is nothing our God cannot do!

So magnificents, lets continue to support each other thru prayer and friendship. Indeed God loves you all !

Cheers,

Agape,

Paul

Dear people,

Yest was an amazing night of worship and fellowship! It's Amplify's first prayer meeting after YISS'06. Well it was really a refreshing time for everyone present, the anointing was strong and the spirit was moving mightily!

Leo spoke on Christian living , urging all of us to be plugged in. Be in a community, whichever it may be, at least a place for all to receive input and support! He drove home three main points, namely: 1) Personal Prayer, 2) Meditation on the Word of God, 3) Community.

These three points speaks strongly to us today. Lets also take ownership of this to make it our life's motto, focus. Our cell's committment. In a cell group, every cell (individual) plays a very important role in it. Imagine a body without a hand or leg, such disability could be very troublesome or inconvenient for movement or going about daily activities. If you do realise the first two points , personal prayer and meditation on the Word of God, requires much discipline and it is very much a personal choice and personal effort, therefore we need to be disciplined into doing so.

Community is vital for a make of a strong christian! But without personal prayer and meditation on the Word of God, community is none other than a social club or social circle. So the importance in spending time in prayer is one we cannot neglect.

Matt 6:5-8

Prayer
5"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 6But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Well so dear magnificents , I hope we start to take relationship with our God seriously if not already. Lets make a collective effort to read the Word of God together and start our Bible sharings via online.
I'll introduce to all of you a good catholic bible supplement called "The Word among us " or "Shalom" to read the first cell meeting.

Cheers,
Agape,

Paul
